It was noted that the Prosecutor’s Office, together with other law enforcement agencies, periodically takes measures against the dissemination of information that constitutes a state secret, as well as information the exchange of which is prohibited by law, on media issues and Internet resources. In continuation of these measures, on November 22 of this year, while monitoring the issues of media and Internet resources, the “Center for Reforms and Public Health” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which worked as head of the The military expert with special authority, Adalat Verdiyev, head of civil defense of the public legal entity, served as a qualified officer in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, determined that significant damage had been caused to the interests that guarantee the security and defense of the State. capacity, which had serious consequences.
According to the facts, a criminal case was initiated and the preliminary investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the Attorney General’s Office.
Adalat Verdiyev, who participated as a military expert in the press tour organized on November 22 through the territories liberated from occupation with the investigation, made a video showing and commenting on the elevations of the combat posts of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan. , the places of deployment of the border troops, the coordinates and operational conditions, and made that video its own social networks disseminated at a level that can be viewed by an unlimited number of viewers through a network account, i.e. , a state protected by the. law of the Republic of Azerbaijan using its powers of service Reasonable suspicions have been established of having caused significant damage to the interests that guarantee its security and defense capacity, causing serious consequences.
Based on the evidence collected, Adalat Verdiyev was presented as a defendant under articles 284.1 (dissemination of state secrets) and 308.2 (abuse of official powers with serious consequences) of the Criminal Code, at the request of the investigator. and the presentation of the prosecutor, who carried out the procedural management of the preliminary investigation, Binagadi district. According to the court’s decision, preventive detention was chosen.
