Military, judges and doctors opposed the suspension of Georgia’s integration into the EU

Some 20 Georgian judges said they do not support any measure that contradicts the constitutional clause on the country’s aspirations to join the EU and NATO. This is how they reacted to the authorities’ decision to suspend negotiations on Georgia’s accession to the EU until 2028.

Some 50 Defense Ministry employees also jointly condemned the Georgian Dream decision.

Previously, employees of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made similar statements.

EADaily reported that on November 28, Georgia imposed a moratorium on EU accession negotiations until 2028. The Georgian Dream decision led to radicals taking to the streets of Tbilisi and causing riots. In the morning the protest was dispersed with special means. The Georgian Interior Ministry reported the arrest of 43 people. During the riots, 32 employees of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs were injured. It was also reported that 20 media representatives were injured.

On the afternoon of November 29, protesters began gathering again in front of the parliament building. Rustaveli Avenue is blocked.

Now protesters are discussing on social media the possibility of blocking strategic objects, including railway stations and central highways, said the deputy head of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Alexander Darakhvelidze.
