“Climate changes in the world, the decrease in natural resources and the increase in demand require the development of a green economy.”
As reported by the “Report”, Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov said this during the Baku Climate Action Week.
“This, in turn, has become an important factor for the sustainable development of each country. According to World Bank calculations, as a result of the effects of climate change, global GDP will decrease by between 1.5 and 5 % annually until 2050. Climate change will disrupt the ecological balance and have a negative impact on biodiversity. These factors once again underline the importance of taking urgent measures to mitigate the wide-ranging effects of climate change,” he said.
