“It is very regrettable that Armenia has misused the International Organization of La Francophonie (IFO), which has a mandate in the field of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between member states, with the open support and sponsorship of France.”
Oku.Az informs that this is stated in the information published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MAE).
It was stated that France flagrantly took advantage of the status of presidency to include in the organization’s summit resolution provisions aimed at its sovereignty and territorial integrity in this organization, of which Azerbaijan is not a member, clearly violating generally accepted practice. Regarding the preparation of documents in multilateral diplomatic formats and the elementary rules of multilateral negotiation, several Member States did not even allow the proposals relating to the known provisions to be discussed:
“As a result, the provisions that the Armenian side claimed to have been adopted at the BFT Summit did not actually gain consensus in the organization, and reservations were added to the document as a protest against some of the provisions.
Therefore, even on a platform of which Azerbaijan is not a member, Armenia’s attempts to get the international community to accept its false stories have failed despite open support from France.
The provisions in question, which the Armenian side tries to present as a “diplomatic victory”, have no political or legal value.
What happened within the framework of the BFT must be evaluated as a manifestation of the fact that Armenia is not interested in the peace process, that it intends to invade the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan at every possible opportunity and that France uses Armenia . for their own narrow interests.
Despite France’s open threats and blackmail, the Azerbaijani side expresses its gratitude to the BFT partner member states for their unwavering loyalty to international law and the BFT’s humanitarian mandate, and for resolutely opposing the disruptive activity aimed at sovereignty and territorial integrity. of Azerbaijan and undermines the normalization process.
The Azerbaijani side calls on Armenia to renounce such destructive measures and show political will and responsibility to remove remaining obstacles on the path to the logical conclusion of the normalization process, first of all, the provisions of the constitution of this country. country and other legislative acts containing territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
The Armenian side has to choose between concluding the normalization process in this way or continuing the conflict at all levels. “The Azerbaijani side is committed to the normalization process it has proposed and has steadily advanced it with political wisdom and a sense of responsibility.”
