Minsk accused neighboring countries of violating international law

EU countries neighboring Belarus ignore international treaty rules, including violating the UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. This was announced today, October 30, by the deputy prosecutor of the Grodno region, Andrei Skurat.

“We clearly see that if all law enforcement agencies and other state bodies of Belarus in their activities do not at all allow violations of both national legislation and international agreements, then, unfortunately, at first glance, even, I am Sure, you can see that the neighboring side ignores these rules,” – said.

Skurat also drew attention to the fact that the EU’s neighboring countries not only violate international agreements, but also ignore “simple human and moral principles.”

“We see this in those mutilated foreigners who are transferred through technical means of protection to our territory. We see it in the corpses that were found in our territory.” – emphasized the deputy prosecutor.

According to him, the Attorney General’s Office reacts harshly to the events. In particular, he noted that in June 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case against Lithuanian officials for crimes against the security of humanity due to the mistreatment of immigrants.

Let us remember that in 2021 the migration crisis began on the border of Belarus with the EU countries. Poland, Lithuania and Latvia refuse to take in refugees from the Belarusian side. This policy of EU countries has already caused numerous deaths among immigrants.
