Minsk does not yet see the need to place Oreshnik in Belarus

It is not yet necessary to deploy Russian medium- and short-range missiles in Belarus. This was announced today, November 25, by Belarusian deputy Nikolai Buzin.

According to him, nothing can be ruled out.

“It all depends on the development of the situation and the threats that may arise for the Union State… There is an even better option: to locate it in the Kaliningrad area. “It will cover all of Europe.” – said.

At the same time, Buzin doubts that Oreshnik will now deploy outside Russia, because at this point he is a secret weapon.

“Belarus already has missiles capable of solving the necessary tasks in this theater of military operations,” – added the deputy.

Buzin also drew attention to the fact that means of nuclear deterrence are already used in the republic.

Let us remember that Minsk and Moscow have been building the Union State since 1999. The parties pay special attention to military cooperation. It was previously reported that in the spring of 2023 the heads of the defense departments of Belarus and Russia signed documents on the procedure for maintaining Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory. Later president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that these weapons have been deployed.
