JAKARTA – The Constitutional Court (MK) made a decision that separates the implementation of the national elections (president and legislative) from regional elections (regional leader and DPRD). The time between them is a maximum of 2 years and 6 months. This decision will begin to enter into force in the next electoral cycle.
The chairman of the National Commission on Human Rights, Anis Hidaia said, the decision corresponded to what was transferred to his party to the government and parliament.
“Komnas Ham believes that the decision of the Constitutional Court is a progressive step to encourage the implementation of more human rights,” said Anis on Sunday (06/29/2025).
“Especially in the process of voting TPS employees, so the work is more directed and measurable,” he said.
He continued, the elections in 2019 and 2024 with five ballots became one of the main reasons for the large number of working accidents of KPS officers, both officers who died or fell ill.
