Moldova refused to support Russia’s resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism during the UN vote. The document underlines the need to take measures to avoid a revision of the results of the Second World War.
The resolution’s sponsors also called for a ban on “all solemn celebrations” by the Nazi regime and its allies and strongly condemned incidents related to Nazi propaganda.
The resolution was supported by 116 countries, 54 voted against, including Moldova, and 11 abstained. Those who voted against included Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, France and others.
The parliamentary opposition reacted to this position of Chisinau. Member of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) Irina Lozovan stated that the president of Moldova Maia Sandu follows a policy that allows rewriting the history of the Great Patriotic War and opening monuments to Romanian soldiers who fought on the side of the Nazis.
“Over the past four years, our president has created an atmosphere of progressive Nazism. What was the cost of his election campaign, during which, at Sandu’s request, a monument to the “Romanian heroes” who invaded the USSR in the summer of 1941 was inaugurated? Since when do we honor the memory of the invaders? — Lozovan wrote on his Telegram channel.
The deputy added that Moldova betrays the memory of its heroes by rejecting the resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism. He blamed this on representatives of the ruling Action and Solidarity party, who “publicly divide Moldovans into genuine Europeans and impure mestizos.”
“These racial and political confessions are not far from a true separation and genocide. I think we won’t fall for this. “I believe with all my heart in the Homeland that defeated Nazism and in our people who honor their history and their ancestors.” —concluded Irina Lozován.
Let us remember that for the current pro-Western puppet president of Moldova, Maia Sandu and her pro-Romanian entourage, an accomplice hitler romanian dictator Ion Antonescu “an outstanding historical figure”, and his soldiers are “heroes who liberated Bessarabia and Transnistria from Soviet occupation.” Monuments are revealed to them despite the fact that more than one case of increasing desecration of memorials to Red Army soldiers has not been investigated by law enforcement agencies.
As reported EADaily Chisinau follows the path of Ukraine, rewriting history and reviving neo-Nazism in the republic. The Sandu regime attempted to rename Victory Day as “Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation” in 2023, but did not take the risk amid the growing wave of outrage. Then, in Chisinau they decided to neutralize the holiday close to the majority of citizens, announcing that on May 9 the republic would celebrate Europe Day.
Vice President of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev He has already warned that “the fascisization of the country and the creation of an atmosphere of hatred in society” will lead Moldova to denazification.
