Monasterio softens his tone and his speech in his first clash with Ayuso after being dismissed as president of Vox in Madrid

Rocío Monasterio is no longer president of Vox Madrid, but she is still spokesperson in the Assembly, and she asked this Thursday Isabel Diaz Ayuso due to the housing problem in the area. His intervention during the control session was much gentler and less harsh than on other occasions, and he limited himself to deploring the price of housing and giving various “advice” to the regional president of Madrid.

In a much slower and calmer tone than in other plenary sessions, he asked the president how it was possible for a house to become something inaccessible. Monasterio gave “three pieces of advice” to Ayuso: protect private property, liberalize the land, “I brought here seven times the proposal to liberalize the land, but you, the politicians, kidnapped it for your interests” and the third legal security.

Ayuso did not want to cause bloodshed with Monasterio’s situation within his party. He limited himself to explaining that access to housing has always been complicated in other capitals. “Today we are experiencing an explosive demographic boom, which is slowing down supply and demand. Under Sánchez, the price of housing increased by 232 percent. No houses were built, among other reasons because, with you, the urban development of Madrid was paralyzed”, he recalled. And Vox had to no longer be decisive, he said, so that ‘they resume.

Ayuso boasted about his housing policy and stressed that bureaucracy had been eliminated, land vacated and housing plans rolled out. “They criticize everything we do, but we have 8,500 proposed, awarded or under construction. We are going to deliver another 2,000 by Christmas. Tell me which regional government, which region in Spain is currently building that many We are building social housing, 41 percent of which is increasing throughout Spain,” he assured.

The president of the Community did not want to make a single mention of the internal situation of Monasterio and his dismissal from the presidency of his party in Madrid. He only regretted, in his speech at the control session, that Monasterio described Madrid “as those of the ultra-left do” and that he never gave an exact figure. “You always lie with the figures, youth unemployment in Madrid is 17 percent and in Spain 26 percent. I don’t understand why you never give a correct figure,” he scolded Monasterio, but in a respectful tone too, there is nothing to be done. with that of previous occasions.
