To date, within the framework of countermeasures, 24,375 IMEI codes with “clone” status have been blocked. These IMEI codes appeared on the network with the subscriber ID of 1,570,842 mobile numbers in the 3 months prior to their blocking. 1,157,111 attempts to connect to the network with blocked IMEI codes have been rejected by the “AzInTelecom Mobile Device Registration System (MCQS).”
It should be noted that according to the “Mobile Device Registration Rule” approved by the relevant decision of the Council of Ministers, mobile devices imported from abroad must be registered within 30 days by paying a state fee for use on the network. telecommunications. from Azerbaijan.
Unfortunately, in some cases, people (or entrepreneurs) who do not want to pay the registration fee copy IMEI codes from previously registered devices and sell them. And since the buyer is unaware of this process, they face a restriction that is applied to the device later. To avoid such situations, it is recommended to check the authenticity of the IMEI code when purchasing a mobile device. Verification is possible on the website “portal.rinn.az” for free.
