The Board of Directors declared of particular interest the strategic R&D plans of the companies Meins Consulting of Salamanca and Zamora; GMV and Hélios in Valladolid; and Facundo in Palencia, and approved aid of three million euros in their favor. The development of these new R&D plans will involve business investment of more than 12 million euros and the creation of 45 new specific jobs in innovation activities.
The Government of Castilla y León has approved a grant worth 1,044,865 euros for the company Meins Consulting, and declared four strategic R&D plans of Special Interest to promote technology aimed at the transition to new forms of self-sufficient energy production and achieve products that seek alternatives to fossil energy sourcesand reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
The four strategic plans presented by Meins Consulting, which represent an investment of 3,125,312 euros, are structured around the following four projects: on the one hand, the efficient capture and storage of CO2 in civil buildings; second, the start-up of an ethanol reforming plant for optimized commercial and industrial use; third, an eddy current insulated thermal wind power generator; and finally, the development of a strategic plan for the transition to new forms of self-sufficient energy production.
These R&D plans presented by the company They estimate they will create 18 new jobscarry out subcontracting for an amount of 379,000 euros with Community companies and promote investments associated with more than 15 companies linked to the electricity sector.
Meins Consultin was established in 1998 and focuses its activity on large electrical installations and product development of electrical equipment installed in solar power plants in Europe, South America and Asia. It has four work centers, three in the province of Salamanca and one in Zamora. It has 91 employees and achieves a turnover of 27 million euros. It has an R&D department made up of 20% of the staff.
GMV
The Council approved a grant amounting to 738,442 euros to GMV and declared its R&D strategic plan of special interest to advance towards leadership in ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) worldwide through its open platform and to the integration of artificial intelligence.
GMV’s strategic plan provides for a commercial investment of 3,859,845 euros in two areas of work: firstly, the development of new equipment integrated into the new product family for advanced ITS solutions for public transport management: control and management of services, passenger information systems, communication systems. , advanced driving systems, mobility solutions, automotive, among other technical aspects. The second project aims to evolve the software platform and integration of artificial intelligence for advanced ITS solutions for public transport managementas well as the development of an innovative automatic validation platform in transport management
Regarding employment, the R&D Strategic Plan presented by the company provides for the creation of five new jobs in R&D activities.
Furthermore, the objective of this strategic plan is to promote the creation of an industrial and technological fabric in the growing sustainable mobility market; THE generation of specialized jobs; and the consolidation of the Castilla y León brand as a leader in the automotive industry.
GMV was established in 1984, focused on the space and defense sector, more specifically on activities such as mission analysis, flight dynamics, control centers, simulation or satellite navigation, systems command and control, military applications of satellite navigation systems and simulation.
Currently, the GMV group is present in Europe, the United States and Asia (with head office in 12 countries and customers in 80 countries) with a workforce of more than 3,000 employees. GMV systems In its factory in Boecillo (Valladolid), it employs 220 people dedicated to activities linked to the world of transport (road, rail and maritime) and to activities linked to the automotive industry. Thanks to the previous strategic plan, GMV increased its business volume by 50% and increased employment from 127 to 220 people in this work center.
Facundo
The Government Council approved a subsidy amounting to 865,065 euros for the company Facundo, which presents two strategic R&D plans with an investment of 2,549,616 euros. The first project concerns the development of new innovative and healthy products through automation and integration of technologies to respond to existing changes in consumer trends, increase in healthy lifestyle habits, greater awareness of sustainable food consumption and increased demand.
The second project aims to develop the adaptation of the production facilities of Palencia de Villada and Villamuriel de Cerrato to a new environment of hyperconnectivity. This digitization will lead to the digital integration of all processes: design, manufacturing and administration, in order to allow the company to position itself in the field of industry 4.0.
Regarding employment, the company estimates an increase of 12 new jobs, part of which is dedicated to innovation processes. Regarding associated investments, the execution of the Strategic Plan will involve investments to expand the current facilities in Villada and Villamuriel de Cerrato. with seven million euros over the period 2024-2030.
Likewise, these two strategic plans will allow subcontracting with technology centers for an amount of 190,000 euros with CARTIF and 17,000 euros with CETECE, as well as subcontracting of 23,000 euros with other companies in the Community.
Facundo considers that the development of the Strategic Plan will achieve a great impact on the internationalization of its products and become a technological element of the tractor in Castilla y León.
Helios
Finally, the Council approved a grant to Helios of 430,779 euros and declared its strategic R&D plan of Special Interest, which involves a company investment of 2,524,230 euros to develop two lines of work. The first will develop new foods for children with high added value with the aim of improving digestibility, developing healthy and natural products, and improving the nutritional quality and organoleptic characteristics of marketed products, such as plant-based desserts, plant-based snacks, prepared meals and plant-based supplements. The second strategic plan aims to develop new policies and systems for cybersecurity and the digital transformation of society across the implementation of future cybersecurity technologiesimproving plant processes and operations.
The strategic R&D plan presented by the company provides for the creation of 10 new jobs (part of which will consist of specialized R&D technicians and technology experts). Likewise, investments worth eight million euros will be made during the period 2025-2030 to expand the current facilities in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid).
Helios also plans to subcontract with Community Technology Centers: 15,000 euros with CARTIF and 115,000 euros with ITACYL.
The Helios Group has eight production centers and sales offices in Spain, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. In 1959, the first factory was inaugurated in Valladolid. Its activity is the processing of fruits and vegetables for the production of jams, jams and sauces, and their subsequent packaging. Currently the Hélios group It has more than 700 workers. In the center of Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid), the company employs 157 workers, 15 of whom work in the R&D department.
