More than 4,000 freight transport workers in Cuenca will receive an 11% salary increase in two years

The employers’ union Acutrans-CEOE and the unions CCOO and UGT have reached an agreement for the signing of the collective agreement for road freight transport in Cuenca 2024-25, one of the most important in the province with some 150 companies and more than 4,000 workers involved.

CCOO and UGT positively appreciate the agreement, which closes a long negotiation process that began in November 2023 and sets salary increases of 5.5% for each of the two years of validity of the agreement and for all notions of remuneration.

The increases agreed for 2024 will have retroactive effects to January 1 and will even be slightly higher than 5.5%. the increases that will be applied in 2024 to the allowances, which this year amount to 35 euros in Spain and 60 euros in Europe. Next year, they will increase again by 5.5%, according to CCOO in a statement.

Employers and unions met on September 16 to sign the agreement and send it to the labor authority for subsequent registration, registration and official publication, after which companies will have a maximum period of three months to pay the arrears of this anus.

In addition to the wage increases, the agreement includes the updating of legislation regarding paid leave and improvements to some of them. The specialized server-forklift driver is included in the job categories regulated by the agreement..

The work schedules will have to be approved in the first quarter of the year and, in addition to being posted on the bulletin boards of each work center, they will be sent individually to the movement’s staff by email or WhatsApp.

Absences due to physical or psychological situations resulting from gender-based violence or sexual violence, approved by social or health services, will not be counted as absenteeism.

Similarly, very serious offences will include the use of language that may be offensive or discriminatory on the basis of sex, gender identity or sexual orientation; and direct or indirect discrimination on the basis of sex, maternity or pregnancy.

The UGT-FeSMC and the CCOO-FSC of Cuenca positively appreciate this agreement“especially because the agreed wage increases are higher than those of the CPI and make it possible to recover part of the historical deficit in the purchasing power of wages that workers in this sector have driven down.”
