More than 5.6 thousand people crossed the Syrian border from Lebanon in one day. This was announced by Captain 1st Rank Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy director of the Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, at a briefing on October 5.

“During the day, 5,615 people crossed the border of the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of Lebanon through the checkpoints “El-Arida”, “El-Jawasiya”, “Ed-Dabuhiya”, “Jisr al-Qamar “,” Chaidut Yabus “,” – reported.

Ignasyuk added that in 24 hours representatives of the Central Emergency Service of Russia carried out two humanitarian actions, within the framework of which 400 food packages with a total weight of 3.9 tons were distributed in the city of Latakia and in the Zemrin village in Daraa. province.

Previously, on October 4, more than 14 thousand people crossed the borders of Syria from Lebanon in one day. Ignasyuk also said that Russia is seeing a deterioration in the humanitarian situation due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

On October 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the launch of limited ground strikes against the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah in the border area of ​​southern Lebanon. The Israeli army also continues to bomb Lebanese territory every day.
