THE VOX Navarre Parliamentary Group recorded a amendment to the entire Navarre general budget bill for 2025considering them as “a maximum monument to the policy of waste and the maintenance of a predatory tax policy to provide services of lower quality”. This was announced by the VOX spokesperson, Maïté Nosti, during the press conference after the Meeting of Spokespersons of the Parliament of Navarre.
For VOX, “in this budgetary project, we find the highest public spending in the history of Navarre6.431 million, compared, for example, to the 3.800 million of the 2014 budget, with an exorbitant increase in items intended to satisfy the interests of a few, without any trace of effort to contain superfluous public spending. The highest expenses in the history of Navarre, and they receive the worst possible services“.
In its writing, the Parliamentary Group urges the Government of Navarre to “reduce unproductive bureaucratic expenses, remove unnecessary subsidies and stop treating Navarre as if it were an NGO, financed and subsidized without limit by the pockets of families and businesses for their political and identity interests.”
Debate on the State of Navarre
In another order of things, the parliamentarian VOX referred to the communication from the Government of Navarra to the Parliament with the rules and indications of the National Debate of the Region.
In this communication, the Government stressed that “the current debate mustwill revolve around the role played by Navarrese democratic institutions We must perform well, always giving priority to the general interest and being an example of dialogue, respect, good proposals and good tone. Given this statement, Maïté Nosti criticized the attitude of the political groups that make up the Government and Bildu, given that they do not participate in the debate on the initiatives defended by VOX: “Our group must be excluded from this example of dialogue, because it does not debate with us, they try to disrespect us and the good tone towards us is conspicuous by its absence. In short, we are not going to lower ourselves to their level and we will continue to be respectful, but we are not going to let ourselves be insulted with impunity.
New victim of work
On the other hand, VOX once again attacked the Government of Navarre and Bildu for having “looked the other way” when it comes to workplace accidents. Last Saturday another work accident occurred in Cintruénigo, where a worker fell from four meters high and was seriously injured. “They voted against taking measures to reduce workplace accidents in Navarra, the highest in Spain. They didn’t give any reason for this,” Nosti said.
Demonstrations in Valencia and Madrid
Regarding the demonstrations organized in Valencia and Madrid for protest against the management of DANA in ValenciaVOX rejected any type of violent protests and once again showed its solidarity with all those affected by the disaster. “We are convinced that anyone who uses violence to express their opinions does not deserve to be heard, just as we condemn the behavior of those who use violence to silence those who think differently,” Nosti stressed.
Imposition of Basque
Finally, the VOX spokesperson continues to accuse Bildu of “want to impose Basque on us”. First, regarding the Basque language requirement for hiring a sports activities technician in Huarte. “Does he know anything about sport or is he a friend who only knows Basque?” Nosti joked.
And then, regarding the cancellation, by the Administrative Court of Navarreof the hidden subsidy from the Pamplona City Council to the Korrika of 2024, considering it a minor contract and contrary to the law. “What an unworthy example from a municipal council! These are small things of indoctrination and an attempt to impose a language and accompany it with an exaltation of ETA terrorism,” the spokesperson concluded.
