The device sent by the Moroccan government has already arrived in the town of Bétera. The African country sent a contingent of 70 soldiers and 31 unblocking trucks to assist in cleanup efforts in areas affected by DANA. This is another example of the support of the international community dedicated to Valencia.
The Ministry of the Interior announced on Wednesday that it had begun the process of “incorporating experts and specific mechanisms into the recovery work of the Valencian regions flooded by DANA, once the Generalitat has accepted the offers of support made by Morocco, Portugal and France. “.
The Moroccan offer, Interior said, was one of the first to arrive after the floods of October 29. In the case of Portugal and France, they did it once, on November 8, at the request of the Generalitat, the ministry activated the “European Union Civil Protection Mechanism” (UCPM).
From Portugal, around twenty pumping machines of different types and capacities, seven excavation and backhoe machines and two freight trucks are expected in the coming hours. France will provide various machines for loading and unloading sludge and waste and four super-heavy transport vehicles to transport large quantities of goods to the points where materials extracted from cities flooded by DANA will be destroyed.
Interior is currently analyzing the technical viability of other offers of collaboration made by different European countries to, where appropriate, transfer them to the Generalitat and, if accepted, manage their integration in the recovery and reconstruction works of flooded regions.
