The 1998 Russian-US Missile Launch Notification Memorandum, which notified the United States of the launch of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile, remains in effect. This was told to journalists by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov.
When asked if the corresponding memorandum is still valid, the deputy minister responded affirmatively.
“Yes, it was within the framework of this agreement that the notification about the upcoming combat test launch of the Oreshnik missile was sent.” — noted Ryabkov, reports TASS.
