The Valencia Grand Prix will not take place in two weeks and will therefore not close the MotoGP World Championship. Dorna, the organizer of the World Championship, has succumbed to the pressure and is already looking for alternative scenarios to participate in the last race of the year which will decide the championship title between Jorge Martín and Pecco Bagnaia.
The drivers received the official communication from Dorna to the Safety Commission which took place in Sepang after learning that the government of the Generalitat Valenciana prefers that this test not be carried out. The delicate situation experienced by the Valencian Community, devastated by DANA, led to this decision, already previously supported by several pilots.
The ethical discussion around contesting this Grand Prix had invaded the paddock in recent hours. Many drivers were against it, including Bagnaia, who is fighting for the title with Jorge Martín, and finally the pressure had its effect.
In addition, access to the Ricardo Tormo circuit is devastated, with cracked and completely inaccessible roads, so logistically it also seemed like a utopia that this event could take place under normal conditions.
