JAKARTA – Mount Dukono in Northern Halmaker, North Maluku, survived the eruption on Monday (7/7/2025), about 17.58 East Indonesian time. During the eruption, Mount Dukono released a 1000 -meter volcanic ash of a high level above the peak.
“There was a eruption of J. Dunocon, North Maluku on July 7, 2025 at 17:58 with a height of the ash column observed 1000 m above the peak (± 2,087 m above sea level),” said the officer of the volcanic observer, Bambang Sugion.
With the eruption of ash, the column is white to gray, with thick intensity, bending to the east. This eruption is recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 17 mm and a duration of 56.52 seconds.
“The eruption is still ongoing when a report is made,” he said.
Currently, Mount Duono is at the level of II or the status of alert. With this status, people around the Mount of Dukono and in order not to move, rise and approach the crater Malupang Varrang in a radius of 4 km.
