“The impacts of climate change also increase gender inequality.”
Oku.Az reports that COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev said this at the “COP29 Gender Equality Day: Gender in Transparency” event.
According to him, gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but also one of the foundations of what we call just climate action:
“Because women belong to the vulnerable group that suffers from climate change. Therefore, we must accept the role of women as an important pillar of our society and, in this direction, we must ensure that gender equality remains at the center of the climate agenda.”
