The trial of Mursal Alislam Jabbarov, 51, who killed his wife, Sadighova, daughter of Gunel Tahir, 42, in Gobustan, has concluded.
According to “Qafqazinfo”, Mursal Jabbarov was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Sumgayit Serious Crimes Court.
The event occurred on March 12 of this year. After Mursal Jabbarov strangled his wife with a rope, he injured himself with a knife.
The defendant who testified in court spoke about the dispute between him and his wife:
“There was no serious argument between us. After scolding the boy, Gunel left the house and headed to the house his father left. I never imagined that the incident would end like this. I couldn’t control myself. I only remember Gunel saying “Hang !” and I choked him. Another goal didn’t happen,” Jabbarov said.
He added that he was alone at the time of the incident and went to look for his friend at home.
“When I got home, Gunel was standing. I approached him and after a minute I squeezed his throat with a rope. I was not in my right mind at the time of the incident. Then I hurt myself with a knife. I’m sorry a lot. for what I did,” the accused stated in his statement.
