Last Sunday’s big concert at the Puerta de Alcalá was just the beginning of a whole week of cultural activities to celebrate Hispanidad 2024, which in the coming days offers an intense program to Madrilenians with concerts at Slaughterhousea pyromusical show in the Cibèle Square and a gastronomic tour of municipal markets.
Matadero Madrid, Contemporary Creation Center of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Space, will host seven concerts with proposals for all audiences and musical interests, in collaboration with Madrid City Hall through the Culture, Tourism and Sports Space and the economy, innovation and finance. The first will take place on Thursday 10 at 9:30 p.m. by Israel B, one of the most important Spanish artists of urban music, who has consolidated a brilliant solo career after being part of three of the most emblematic groups of national urban music ( . On Friday October 11, at 9:30 p.m., Colombian Nanpa Básico will take the stage as one of the highlights of this edition. This rapper and composer from Medellín has become one of the most important representatives of rap and the Latin American independent movement. On Saturday, October 12, performances will take place in the morning and afternoon. The first of them will be performed by Elsa y Elmar, the name of the musical project of Colombian singer-songwriter Elsa Margarita Carvajal, at 1 p.m. Already in the evening, at 8 p.m., the flamenco fusion of the Spaniard Diego Guerrero, nominated in 2023 for the Latin Grammy in the category of best flamenco music album, will resonate in the Plaza de Matadero. The last concert of the day will take place at 9:30 p.m. and will feature Spanish artists Rocío Márquez & Bronquio, who dare to merge flamenco and electronic music with great talent and success. The closing of this program will take place on Sunday October 13, with two morning concerts for which tickets will be available from October 9. First, at noon, the Latin folklore group Zuaraz will perform, composed of the Mexican brothers Santiago and Sebastián Hernández and the Galician Xoan Domínguez. Starting at 1:30 p.m., Hispanidad 2024 will be complemented by Bratty, who is one of the first women in Mexican indie to have a strong impact on the sales charts.
In addition, on October 12, in the Plaza de Cibeles, around 9:10 p.m., the City Hall will offer a pyromusical show, to celebrate and reflect the shared cultural heritage and create an atmosphere of joy and entertainment. It will be a selection of popular music by Luis Miguel Cobo, a musician and composer from Ubeta with extensive experience in the performing arts, which will be synchronized with the fireworks of the Pirotecnia Vulcano company.
On the other hand, this year again the municipal markets will join the celebration of Hispanidad, with a gastronomic route and special proposals organized by the Culture, Tourism and Sports Space in collaboration with the Economy, Innovation and Finance.
