The unusual and scandalous solitary protest that took place in Tehran last Saturday is still on the country’s agenda and is causing various reactions.
Oku.Az reports that the YouTube channel “Azad Iran” has prepared a plot in this regard.
On the same day, a one-minute video of a girl, a student of the Science and Research department of the Islamic Azad University, which has a wide network of branches in Iran, walking half-naked in front of the educational institution, quickly spread on social networks. At the end of the video it is also shown that the girl was forcibly taken to a car by people in civilian clothes.
The student was reportedly harassed by the university security service and members of the student organization “Basic” because she did not follow the mandatory rules of wearing the hijab, that is, she did not cover her head. They tried to forcibly take the girl to a private room for proper investigation, but she resisted and they tore her blouse. In that case, the girl took off her pants and threw them towards the security and “Basic” employees and expressed her opposition to the mandatory hijab in her own way by standing in front of the university. Shortly after, members of “Basic” arrested him and handed him over to the police.
Noting that the issue caused wide repercussions, the university management explained the girl’s action as her alleged mental disorder. It was claimed that the girl entered the auditorium and wanted to film the students and the teacher, but in response to objections, she took off her clothes and began walking in front of the university.
Seyyed Amir Mahjoub, executive director of the Union of Iranian Student Journalists and press secretary of the university, shared this information on his “X” account and said that the student was not subjected to any hijab-related violence. However, no one believed this information, even one of the viewers wrote:
“Yes, so security has hurt him because your denial counts as confirmation.”
Another user shared the information published by the “Fars” news agency shortly after the incident, that the student took this step after the warning about the hijab, and emphasized that she was lying. However, towards night, the same agency corrected this news and shared the information released by the university’s public relations department and wrote:
“The student, who acted against morality, was handed over to the police station by the university security service. The university said that she was in a state of severe stress and that she suffered from a mental disorder, she was divorced from her husband and mother of two children.”
