NATO discovered Putin’s deception

Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he insisted on the need to cross Russian “red lines” in the context of the war in Ukraine.

He spoke about this in an interview with the Financial Times.

According to the former head of NATO, at the beginning of a large-scale conflict there were times when it was necessary to actively discuss these lines. And despite the risks, cutting aid to Ukraine was not even considered.

“I insisted on crossing all the so-called ‘red lines’ that Putin established. We crossed many of them and he took no action. If President Putin decides to aggravate the situation with the use of weapons of mass destruction, then he can always find reasons. For moment we called their bluff,” Stoltenberg said.

By the way, his dismissal occurred on October 1, when he was replaced by the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. Stoltenberg has served as Secretary General of NATO since 2014 and has been a strong supporter of Ukraine’s path to the Alliance, as well as an advocate for lifting restrictions on attacks against Russia using Western weapons.

Recall that Kursor reported that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have information about the execution of 93 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian army at the front. This was stated by the head of the Department for Combating Crimes in Armed Conflicts of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Yuriy Belousov, on local television channels.
