“In this exercise, we will train soldiers from the NATO Advanced Forces Battalion Combat Team and the Grand Duke of Lithuania’s Algird Infantry Battalion to plan and carry out offensive and defensive operations day and night, cooperating with each other and integrating combat support and supply units. “ — the department said in a statement.

It is clarified that exercises are held annually in spring and autumn aimed at evaluating the combat readiness of the battalions that are part of the “Iron Wolf” infantry brigade and the full integration of the combat group of NATO advanced forces.

Earlier, on September 10, it was reported that the countries that are part of the North Atlantic Alliance began a series of exercises near Russia’s borders, which will last until the end of autumn. Thus, from October 30 to November 12, Hammer 2024 will be held in Finland, and the Mavi Balina and Poseidon 2024 naval exercises will be held in Turkey and Bulgaria, Izvestia clarifies.
