Georgia conducts NATO large military exercises, despite the fact that the country’s government is criticized that it leaves its professional orientation and leans to Russia.

A candidate for the country for NATO integration is guaranteed by the Georgian Constitution and was approved by the North Atlantic Alliance in 2008, but a democratic regression, which is condemned as a result and outside the border in recent years, brought Tbilisi to the conflict conflict.

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia stated that the Agile Spirit exercise, which will be held near the capital of Tbilisi until August 8, is part of a wider series of joint military schools.

It includes more than 2000 soldiers from 10 countries, such as Germany, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova and the USA.

The gymnasium includes actual fire exercises and a joint business with the Lithuanian political team.

Georgia is losing the EU train?

Earlier this month, the European Parliament in Strasbourg approved the resolution – a slap in the face against the Government of Georgia and the ruling party “Georgian Dream”, accusing him of fraud in the parliamentary elections on October 26.

According to the government, the opposition in agriculture is moving against national interests with the EU.

The elections last fall caused a wave of protests, which lasted more than six months, mainly against the Government of Georgia, in the midst of accusations of election fraud.

The EU is very concerned about a wave of arrests conducted by the Georgian authorities against journalists and some opposition members. The authorities arrested at least seven opposition officials in recent months.

Georgia filed an application for the EU in March 2022 along with Ukraine and Moldova, and received the candidate in December 2023.

A few months later, growing problems and disagreements between Brussels and the Government of Georgia prompted both sides to freeze the expansion process.

As a result, the financial support of the European Fund of the World, 30 million euros, was suspended in 2024, and this year is not provided with support.

The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobahindze told Euronews in May that his country plays a “vital role in Europe.”

“Everyone must recognize the strategic importance of agriculture for Europe. Our role in the region is important and, therefore, recognizes the need for a dialogue with Georgian leaders, ”he said.
