The North Atlantic Alliance plans to open an office in Amman within a few months for communication with the countries of the Middle East, which will function as an embassy.
“This embassy will help us gather political information, talk to people and better understand how the situation is changing. It may be possible to establish a presence in other countries if this is the wish of some southern partners.” —said Javier Colomina, the alliance’s special representative for Africa and the Middle East, in an interview with the newspaper El Nacional.
He noted that the alliance pays close attention to what is happening in the Middle East, and according to him this will not affect support for Ukraine in any way;
“We see instability in many places. Our organization is very serious and its strengths are defense and security policy. We must use them to address what is causing concern.” — the diplomat added, TASS reports.
