Navarrese productions, producers and talents present at the San Sebastian Film Festival from September 20 to 28

This Friday the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival which will have a great presence of the Navarrese audiovisual sector in different sections and activities.

Among the programming open to the public, this Friday, September 20, the latest film by Navarrese director Raúl de la Fuente Los Williams will be released, who also produced and wrote the screenplay for the film. Navarrese Amaia Remírez.

The film, which will inaugurate the Zinemira section and it competes for Irizar Awards 2024a Navarra distribution by Golem. In this same section, the Navarrese filmmaker Amaia Merino will present the film Let It Know, which she co-directed with Ander Iriarte.

The new restored copy of Tasio by the Navarrese director Montxo Armendariz will inaugurate the Klasikoak section. The restored 4K version was managed by the Basque Cinematheque of the L’immagine Ritovata laboratories of the Bologna Cinematheque and was previewed at the last Cannes Film Festival. The screening of Tasio will reward both the film and its director, who will receive an award from the Basque Cinematheque at the Victoria Eugenia Theater, where the film was released 40 years ago.

The project Emotional Films from Professor Octopus AI Laba project based on the use of artificial intelligence for the development of a new audiovisual format that allows it to evolve in real time depending on the viewer’s emotions, will compete in the Zinemaldia Startup Challenge, in which a selection of the most outstanding state projects is presented. and international companies that are committed to the use of technological developments applied to the audiovisual sector.

Navarrese presence in the “musical” part of Zinemaldia

As part of the festival’s special sessions, a concert-screening will take place on Saturday at the Anoeta Velodrome, organised in collaboration with the Euskadiko Orkestra and in collaboration with the SGAE Foundation.

The concert will feature a large number of soundtracks from Navarrese productions and the participation of Navarrese composer Paula Olaz who has prepared a suite that includes fragments of three Navarrese productions: Someone Who Takes Care of Me, Verano en rojo and Bajo Terapia. The soundtrack of the Navarrese production of 601 Producciones Kantauri, D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, as well as the film Emilia by Navarrese director Miguel Ángel Calvo Buttini will also be part of the concert.

Industrial activity of the Navarrese audiovisual sector at the Festival

For its part, CLAVNA, Navarre audiovisual clusterwill maintain an active program of meetings and encounters with the main players in the national and international audiovisual sector, thus continuing its strategy of boosting business in Navarre. Among others, they will attend activities related to other national clusters; the Redcau general assembly; and the session “Alliances and investments for the consolidation of the Spanish audiovisual ecosystem”, among other activities.
