A two-month-old child died and four other people, including a child, were injured in an accident in the town of Lyudinovo, Kaluga region, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
According to the department, the driver of the Lada Priora at the intersection of Herzen and Trudovye Rezervy streets did not give priority to a regular bus moving along the main road. As a result of the collision, the vehicle flew into pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. The baby died on the spot, four people were taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity and are receiving medical care.
“The Lyudinovo city prosecutor’s office is coordinating the work of law enforcement agencies at the scene of the accident, in which a two-month-old child died and several other people were injured,” – the message said.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 264 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, tram or other mechanical vehicle, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).
According to the Shot telegram channel, the mother of the deceased baby, a one-year-old child and two other people were injured in the accident.
