In the Rostov region, a foreign citizen attempted to rape a 14-year-old schoolgirl and the pedophile was detained, the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region reported.
“The court accepted the request of the investigator to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention on the suspect of having committed illegal actions against a 14-year-old girl. The person involved in the case has been placed in a pretrial detention centre.” – the message said.
According to the investigation, the man saw the girl at a public transport stop in the village of Shchepkin, Aksai district. The foreigner tried to rape her, but was chased away by passers-by. According to local media, the incident occurred on September 16. The schoolgirl screamed and adults came to her aid and called the police.
A criminal case was opened against the man under paragraph 3 of article 30, paragraph “a”, part 3, article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted rape).
Chairman of the Research Committee Alexander Bastrykin took control of this criminal case, instructing the head of the regional headquarters of the Investigative Commission to submit a report on the progress of the investigation.
