Nearly 200,000 servicemen fled from the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Boyko – EADaily – SVO News 9.09. SVO News. SVO News. SVO News 9.09.2024. News from the Northern Military District in Ukraine today. SVO News now. SVO. News. SVO News for September 9.

The number of those who left the unit without permission and deserted from the troops of the kyiv regime has now reached about 200,000, according to journalist Vladimir Boyko, who serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is how he commented on the statement of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslana GorbenkoThere are 80,000 in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who left their units without permission. Boyko stressed that this is only the number of open criminal cases, but in reality there are about 200,000 deserters.

“More than a third of the cases are not registered, since the State Bureau of Investigation (State Bureau of Investigation) EADaily) essentially conceals crimes against the established procedure for military service (because the SBI investigates only cases that can be sold profitably) and commanders of military units have to sue the SBI to force investigators to file a corresponding report in the ERDR. At the same time, even registered criminal cases are not investigated and no one is looking for deserters,” Boyko writes on his social media account, as quoted by Strana.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the first quarter of this year alone, almost 13 thousand criminal cases have been registered under Art. 407, 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized abandonment of a military unit and desertion).

“Given that the OSA does not include reports from commanders of military units on crimes committed in the ERDR, the real number of crimes is at least three times higher. But even if we assume that only 25 thousand servicemen deserted in the first quarter of 2024, this means the collapse of the front.” – the journalist points out.

as it was transmitted EADailyThe command has to deal with low morale in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the desertion of soldiers after many Ukrainian units were destroyed. CNN reported on this with reference to Ukrainian commanders.

Ukrainian battalion commanders told the TV channel that reinforcements rarely arrive at the units, which leads to exhaustion and demoralization of the servicemen. There is practically no communication between different departments. The most difficult situation developed in the units near Pokrovsk.
