Negotiations between Israeli and British defence ministers

Defense Minister Yoav Galant recently held a telephone conversation with his British counterpart, Secretary of State for Defense John Healey, according to a transcript of the conversation released by his office.

Gallant briefed Healy on a preemptive strike against Lebanon that morning and a foiled attack by Hezbollah terrorists, the report said. During the conversation, they also discussed the importance of cooperation between Israel and the U.K. to ensure Israel’s security and maintain stability in the region.

The report also noted that Gallant and Healy discussed ongoing negotiations for the release of hostages and a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas terrorists. Gallant expressed gratitude to Healy for cooperation in defending Britain, as well as for his “personal leadership and commitment to Israel’s security.”

Earlier, Cursor wrote that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, confirmed Israel’s determination to continue military operations in the Gaza Strip until the primary goals are achieved – the release of hostages and the complete destruction of the Hamas terrorist organization.

His office said Gallant stressed the importance of increasing military pressure on Hamas and noted the need for continued political pressure from the United States to facilitate the return of the hostages.

In addition, Cursor has already reported that Defense Minister Yoav Galant, in a conversation with his American counterpart, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, noted that “unprecedented security cooperation between Israel and the United States in confronting Iran and its allies plays a key role in ensuring regional security and stability.”
