Net-Pharma has joined Barcelona & Partners, the investment attraction agency of Barcelona Global, with the aim of contributing to the attraction of investments and promoting the life sciences ecosystem promoted by the association. to make Barcelona a world reference city in the life sciences sector.
This new facility constitutes the first European hub of services and technologies for the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector, with more than 8,000 square metres of surface area divided into laboratories, production areas and offices. The hub is home to companies that have developed 6 international patents in the last 5 yearsand collaborates with foreign companies and universities from America, Asia and Spain.
The company’s leaders are currently participating in the Life Sciences Chapter developed by Barcelona Global, along with more than a hundred professionals, in order to improve the competitiveness of the Barcelona metropolitan area in the field of life sciences. Five working groups have been created to address different aspects of the sector and will propose actions that have an impact on the promotion and acceleration of technology transfer and innovation in the sector. In addition, They will identify opportunities by sharing the needs of businesses, start-ups, health and research centers.
The chapter also aims to improve companies’ access to private capital markets, facilitate listing on international stock exchanges such as Nasdaq, encourage collaboration between different players in the ecosystem and, where appropriate, adapt legislation in these areas. also to attract and retain impactful talent.
The Net-Pharma agreement was signed by its president, Cristóbal Molleja, and the president of Barcelona Global, Ramón Agenjo. The signing also took place in the presence of the CEO of the Association, Mercè Conesa; the general director of Barcelona & Partners, Montse Puig; the director of corporate development of Net-Pharma, Marín Orriols; and council member Oriol Casòliva.
The incorporation of Net-Pharma into Barcelona & Partners involves the collaboration of both entities, which will collaborate in the the identification and generation of investment attraction projects, as well as the acceleration and support of companies and corporationsboth national and international, who seek to settle or expand in Barcelona and its area of influence.
