The new military aid package for kyiv includes conditions for the possible transfer of Swedish JAS Gripen aircraft, the country’s Defence Minister Paul Johnson announced today.
Johnson said this while announcing a new package of military support for kyiv worth around $445 million.
“The Swedish government is today presenting a new package of military support to Ukraine worth around 445 million dollars. We are continuing to shift from donations to the production of weapons for Ukraine. This package creates the conditions for a decision on the possible transfer of JAS Gripen aircraft to Ukraine.” – the minister said, as quoted by the Rossiya-1 presenter on his Telegram channel. At the same time, he recalled that “Sweden has avoided restrictions on the use of our donated weapons, even on Russian territory.” Support for Ukraine is not an escalation, he added.
