New charges have been filed against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who is serving time for rape and sexual assault, the New York Times reports.
The new charges were made public at Weinstein’s upcoming court hearing on September 12, while the producer himself was not present at the hearing. He is currently in hospital after undergoing surgery.
According to the prosecutor, new charges are expected to be announced at a hearing on September 18, only after Weinstein, 72, was released from the prison hospital.
As reported EADailyEarlier this week, Weinstein complained of heart pain. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he underwent surgery. According to the producer’s representatives, Weinstein “has many serious health issues that require ongoing treatment.”
