New information has been revealed about the death of Russian social media phenomenon Tatyana Ozolina, known by the pseudonym “MotoTanya” in a motorcycle accident in Türkiye.

According to the information, in the report prepared by the Forensic Medical Institution on the motorcycle accident that occurred in the Milas district of Mugla, Ozolina is innocent, while the other driver, Onur Obut, is the main culprit.
It should be noted that the accident occurred on July 21 at 5:30 p.m. on the Söke-Milas highway. Russian citizen and motorcycle enthusiast Tatyana Ozolina, 38, arrived in Türkiye in the second week of July as part of her world tour. He was accompanied on the tour by Onur Obut, 29, and Sergey Khadrikov.
Apparently, one of the three motorcyclists heading towards Milas, Sergey Khadrikov, was left behind. Obut and Ozolina slowed down and waited for their friends to catch up. Meanwhile, Tatiana and Onur’s motorcycles collided. As a result Ozolina lost her life. The injured Obut was taken to hospital.
Onur Obut, whose treatment was completed, was detained by police teams.
“I have known Tatyana Ozolina and Sergey Khardikov for a long time on social networks. I invited them to tour Turkey. Our trip started in Istanbul. When I entered the borders of the Milas region, I slowed down to wait for Sergey, who was behind me, then Tatyana, who was coming from behind, hit me and dragged me,” he said in his statement.
Obut was later released on bail.
A report was prepared by the Forensic Medical Institution based on the investigation of security cameras and witness statements. According to the report, when Ozolina was driving, he braked because a truck was coming in front of him, and Obut, who did not keep his distance, collided with Ozolina’s motorcycle from behind. For this reason it was clear that Ozolina was not at fault, but that Obut was the cause of the accident.
According to Ali Shan, a lawyer for Tatyana Ozolina’s family, the camera on Ozolina’s motorcycle, which was supposedly working at the time of the incident, disappeared after the accident. A motorist who stopped during the accident reportedly handed the camera to Obut. Ali Shan asked those who saw the camera to testify before the prosecution.
“A report on the cause of Tatyana Ozolina’s death is expected. All evidence is contained in the document. However, the camera recording has disappeared. It is said that the camera was given to another driver after the accident, but the driver denies this,” Ali Shan said.
“Many witnesses have given their statements. If there are others who saw the accident, please contact the prosecutor’s office and give their statements,” he added.
