The DPRK missile flight was the longest of all launches; perhaps another type of missile was used, NHK television channel reported citing the Japanese Defense Ministry.
The flight lasted 1 hour 26 minutes and became the longest of all launches. In this sense, the Japanese Ministry of Defense admits that a different type of missile could have been used this time.
The DPRK reportedly launched a ballistic missile at 7:11 (1:11 Moscow time), probably along an aerial trajectory, meaning it was launched at a more vertical angle to reduce the flight range by increasing altitude. It fell at 8:37 (2:37 Moscow time) near the island of Okushiri in Hokkaido, outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.
Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba announced the convocation of the National Security Council in relation to this launch and stated that up to this time no damage had been reported.
