North Korea launched two ballistic missiles

North Korea reportedly launched two ballistic missiles, NHK writes, citing data from the Japanese Coast Guard and the country’s Ministry of Defense.

The first missile was likely launched from the DPRK on September 18 at 06:55 local time (00:55 Moscow time), the Japanese defense ministry said.

The second launch was announced by the Coast Guard at 07:28 local time (01:28 Moscow time).

Both missiles fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, the publication wrote, citing several Defense Ministry officials. The Coast Guard did not report any damage caused by the missiles.

As NHK notes, this is the 11th time this year that North Korea has launched ballistic missiles.

The Japanese government protested to North Korea and condemned the launches.

On September 12, Yonhap news agency reported the launch of a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan, citing the South Korean military. The agency later clarified that the launch involved several short-range ballistic missiles.
