Pyongyang – the relationship between North Korea and South Korea again experienced a radical failure.

In the last events of Pyongyang, it was reported that he forbade songs “I am glad to meet” or “Bangapseumnida” – a song that was known as a symbol of reconciliation between two Korea.

Quote DW Indonesia, Saturday (5/5/2025), the ban on this song was adopted after the revision of the North Korean Constitution last year, which officially established South Korea as the “main enemy”.

Although it sounds trivial, analysts see this action as part of a wider scheme, namely the removal of systematic traces of the brotherhood with South Korea from the official story of North Korea.

The song “Glad to meet you”, which was first shown in 1991 by the Zhaonbo electronic ensemble from Japan, was part of cultural diplomacy between North and South Korea.

Unlike the North Korean propaganda song, which is thick with ideological slogans, this song contains a message of heat and openness, and it is often played at meetings between the two countries.

But now the song is prohibited, reflecting the new attitude of Pyongyang, which is becoming more closed and from Seoul.

Not only the songs, the tourist zone of Gunung Kumgang, which used to be a symbol of economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, was also destroyed. Based on the last analysis of the images of satellites from the 38th northern site, only the foundation of the building remains in the northern region of the demilitarization zone (DMZ).

Earlier, this area was built by South Korean companies, including hotels, restaurants, golf resorts, in the places of family meeting from 1950-1953 of the Korean War. The project was suddenly stopped in 2008 after the South Korean tourist was shot dead because he left the indicated path.

In 2019, the North Korean leader Kim Jong UN ordered to destroy all the buildings in this area. Now the order has been fully executed.

A number of other symbolic steps also show the direction of the new Pyongyang policy. The lyrics of the anthem of North Korea change so that they no longer mention the southern part of the Korean peninsula. Even in weather forecasts on television, North Korea, South Korea, is now removed from the card.
