The Finnish group HMD (Human Mobile Devices) has launched the Barbie phone, a basic device designed for digital disconnectionwith a pink design inspired by the Mattel doll that includes various customization elements.
The partnership between HMD and Mattel was announced earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and is now coming to market to offer “a burst of nostalgia and a touch of glamour“consumer life, for 129.99 euros.

This phone, in clamshell or flip format, offers a set of basic functions, such as calls, text messages and 0.3 MP camera with flash, and a user interface with Barbie wallpapers and app icons inspired by the doll. The battery provides up to nine hours of talk time.
It is a device designed to promote digital disconnectionand therefore includes wellness applications such as “Digital Balance Tips,” “BarbieMeditation,” and in Settings, “Self-Care Reminders.” Relaxing sounds and alarms have also been selected.
