The question now is not whether the Kiev regime should be allowed to attack Russia with high-precision weapons, but whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
This is how Putin commented on reports that the West could allow kyiv to strike with long-range weapons it has been supplied deep inside Russia. The video was posted on the Kremlin’s Telegram channel.
“It is an attempt to replace concepts. Because we are not talking about allowing or prohibiting the Kiev regime from attacking Russian territory. It does so anyway. Using unmanned aerial vehicles and other means. But when it comes to using long-range precision weapons made in the West, it is a completely different story.
The fact is that the Ukrainian army is not capable of carrying out strikes with modern long-range and high-precision systems made in the West. It cannot do this. This is possible only using intelligence data from satellites, which Ukraine does not have, these are data only from satellites of the European Union or the United States… From NATO satellites. This is the first. The second – and very important, perhaps the key – is that the flight missions of these missile systems, in fact, can only be carried out by military personnel of NATO countries. Ukrainian military personnel cannot do this.
And so, we are not talking about allowing the Ukrainian regime to attack Russia with these weapons or not, we are talking about making a decision on whether NATO countries are directly involved in a military conflict or not. If this decision is made, it will mean nothing more than the direct participation of NATO countries (the United States, European countries) in the war in Ukraine… And this will significantly change the very essence, the very nature of the conflict. And if this is so, then, taking into account the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created for us.” – Putin said.
