O Chan, new member of the Pariente family, the Godello wine that bottles the landscape of Bierzo

Wine and the Leonese region of Bierzo They have been closely linked for centuries. In fact, since the Roman presence in the area, there are traces of vineyards in this beautiful mountainous land but, at the same time, so fertile in the valleys bathed by the Sil and other rivers that descend from the peaks.

It is there, on the slope of one of these Bercian mountains called Cerro Carrapito, at 607 meters above sea level and in the municipality of Cabañas Raras (León), this is where the white grapes of the Godello grape variety are harvested. from which a shiny liquid was extracted that, as if by magic, put the typical landscape of Bierzo in a bottle of wine.

Attributed to Bierzo Designation of OriginThis wine was born from the desire of Bodegas Prieto Pariente to produce in a unique region, appreciated both for its location and for being home to some of the oldest vines in the world. “This production is a faithful reflection of the Bercian terroir and the roots of the Godello variety in these lands”, and according to Martina Prieto Pariente, technical director of the winery“was the result of an environment of learning, collaboration and knowledge transfer.”

Those responsible for this work are two brothers, Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente, descendants of a great family saga of winegrowers, who now, with their own project, that of The “Unique Vineyards” showcase grape varieties from several wine-growing regions across the country.

O Chan wine thus becomes the new member of the Pariente family, wineries that also include Viognier, La Provincia, El Origen and Los Confines.. Each of these wines represents a unique approach to winemaking, always with the aim of capturing the essence of the vineyards from which they come, both in Rueda and Sierra de Gredos and, as in this case, in El Bierzo.

The result is O Chan, a Godello that stands out for its character and identity.. With a bright greenish straw color, its aromas of white fruits and citrus fruits stand out with notes of hay and spices. It is a wine with angular acidity, taut and saline texture, with volume and a silky finish.

With a price of 16 eurosIt is recommended to serve it between 9 and 12 ºC, it is an ideal wine to accompany tasty fish, shellfish, white meats and a wide variety of cheeses, although due to its finesse, complexity and aromatic intensity, it can also be combined with velvety rice, pâtés or salads that combine sweet and salty. What are you waiting for to try it?
