Today is celebrated in Azerbaijan the Day of the city of Fuzuli.
President Ilham Aliyev According to the decree signed on July 31, 2023, Fuzuli City Day is solemnly celebrated on October 17 every year.
Oku.Az recalls that the city of Fuzuli and much of the region were occupied by the Armenian armed forces on August 23, 1993 and were completely destroyed by the Armenians during the 27 years of occupation.
On the 21st day of the 44-day Patriotic War, in which the Azerbaijani army wrote a glorious history under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev, the city of Fuzuli and the surrounding villages of the region were liberated from the Armenian occupation.
October 17 is Fuzuli City Day.
A month later, on November 16, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev raised the glorious flag of Azerbaijan in the city of Fuzuli.
It should be noted that the battles for Fuzuli were one of the most important battles of the Second Karabakh War on the southeastern front. With the successful operation Fuzuli, our army also liberated several settlements in the Jabrayil and Khojavand regions.
