An increase in wages by 0.5% for all officials of the city council Madrid will arrive on August. This was declared on Thursday Vice -Mer Madrid and acting mayor Inm Sanz during the press conference after the leading council. This measure will be retroactively from January 1, 2024 for about 40,000 municipal workers.
Sanz explained that the budget of the city council, with the planned for this year, has sufficient resources to combat more than 25.5 million euros, which can achieve an additional increase in remuneration employees of the public sector of the consistory, as well as debt from January 1, 2024.
This is a measure considered in the basic rules of the state, where it is recognized that this increase is additional for an increase of 2%, which has already been used in January 2024. The Council of Managers gave a green light to approve this increase in wages.
The consistory of Jose Luis Martinesa-Almeida accepts this initiative in accordance with the royal decree 4/2024, dated June 26, which expands certain measures to encounter the economic and social consequences obtained as a result of conflicts in Ukraine, and the Middle East, and urgent measures in fiscal, energy and social issues are taken, and in accordance with the budget council.
In particular, this growth will be paid because the provisions of the Royal Law were implemented, which includes an additional increase in remuneration by 0.5% if the sum of the difference in the harmonized consumer price index (IPCA) 2022, 2023 and 2024 of the Council of Ministers.
“After this increase was agreed by the Council of Ministers with six months of delay in July 1, as well as from January 1, 2024, the debt for debt will enter into force in August for all employees of the city council service, about 40,000 people,” the city council said.
