State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko co-authored a bill banning the propaganda of the “childless” ideology, lower house parliament deputy Elvira Aitkulova told reporters.
“Today, our authors include State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko, which demonstrates the importance of this issue for our country.” – Aitkulova said.
The press service of the Federation Council reported that Matvienko signed the corresponding bill.
It should be recalled that Matvienko, 75, was re-elected today as the Chairman of the Federation Council for a fourth term. The decision was taken unanimously at the first meeting of the autumn session and was greeted with standing ovation by the senators.

We are talking about preventing the dissemination of information popularizing childlessness. Volodin stressed that fines for violations will amount to up to 400 thousand rubles for individuals, up to 800 thousand rubles for officials and up to 5 million rubles for legal entities.
