The Government of Castile-La Mancha will send a new CAP 2023 payment, which in the province of Toledo will mean aid amounting to 4.5 million euros intended for farmers and breeders.

This was announced on Saturday by the Council delegate in Toledo, Álvaro Gutiérrez, in the Toledan town of Montearagón, where he inaugurated, together with the mayor, Teodoro Jiménez, the ‘Medieval wine fair‘, which this year celebrates its nineteenth edition, making it one of the most important in the province of Toledo.

The 4.5 million euros correspond to the basic income support lines for sustainability, redistributive payment and young farmers. The funds will begin to take effect on October 5.

Regarding the Medieval Wine Fair, Gutiérrez assured that this encounter with wine culture “has already become a brand from Montearagón which is gradually gaining recognition and prestige and is one of the most important in the province of Toledo.

In the opinion of the Council delegate, “this is not the result of chance, but of two fundamental things. One is the raw material, the vine, and the other is the human material, the farmers and winegrowers of this land, who have made great wines of Méntrida designation of origin“.

And he congratulated Mayor Teodoro Jiménez, “who not only had the brilliant idea of ​​organizing a party in honor of wine, but who made it the prestigious fair that it is today, attractive for producers and cellars and with enormous tourist interest”. attracting thousands of visitors each edition.

The attendance forecast this year is approximately 10,000 peoplea fair where they offer their wines 20 cellars in the 14 stands included in the Medieval Market which give the unique character to this fair.

Numerous activities such as workshops, shows, the traditional crushing of the first grapes, tastings, a wine bar, crafts, gourmet products, food trucks and the unmissable wine tastings are the protagonists of the extensive program that the Town Hall of Montearagón has organized with the ambition of liking who visits them.
