Since the end of 2023, the Russian regulator has kept the rate at 16%, but then decided to raise it amid accelerating inflation and inflated inflation expectations.
“On September 13, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to increase the key rate by 100 bp to 19.00% per annum.” – says the official decision of the regulator.
