This Wednesday, the agents rescued 10 people trapped in the Torrent de Pareisin the middle of the Tramuntana, after the flooding caused by a waterspout. However, two British hikers remained to be located.
The body of one of them, aged 32, has been found and rescuers are continuing to search for the other tourist. It was the survivors who warned that two people who were accompanying them had been carried away by water without being able to do anything to help him, after which the agents began the search operation.

According to Aemet’s forecast, Balearic Islands will completely have orange notice by rain and storms; and Tarragona (Catalonia); Castellón and Valencia (Valencian Community) will register orange warnings for rain and yellow warnings for storms.

The Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) of the Civil Guard, established this Tuesday a device in the area of the Torrent de Pareis, to prevent possible accidents for hikers who go to this area and taking into account the forecast of heavy rains.
“Due to the experience of previous years, in which water surprises hikers, many of whom do not pay attention to weather forecasts and find themselves trapped due to rising waters, the Civil Guard command decided to implement the aforementioned device, thanks to which, that same afternoon, with the help of the helicopter of the same body, it was possible to save the lives of 10 hikers who were stuck, without warm clothes and completely wet,” the Civil Guard said in a press release.
The President of the Government, Marga Prohens, canceled her trip to Perpignan on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of King Sanç of Mallorca to follow the developments of DANA which places the Balearic Islands on orange alert.
