One in five students in Iran thinks about suicide

Half of high school students in Iran have symptoms of depression and one in five students thinks about suicide.

Oku.Az reports that the Group of Human Rights Defenders in Iran – HRANA. It is reported that 18% of schoolchildren with symptoms of depression committed suicide. The rate of students thinking about suicide is 21%.

It was observed that depression among girls is twice that of boys and the prevalence of depression in Iran and among schoolchildren is increasing.
