One in three visitors to the 2024 Flora Festival were tourists and, in greater numbers, women.

A third of those present at Flora Festival 2024 These are tourists and the rest of the visitors, up to completing the total of 215,000 with which this edition closed, Cordobans who felt attracted by this event. This data comes from a study of the University of Cordoba which was announced this Wednesday and which also reflects some 20,000 visitors to the organized parallel activities.

The “Economics of Tourism, Culture and Sport” Research Group of the University of Cordoba carried out a study to understand the opinion and perception people who have visited one of the artistic creations. In total, 774 people responded to a questionnaire sent to participants.

“This Festival shows great loyalty among participants, since the majority had participated in previous editions,” indicates the study. Concerning the sociodemographic profile, a slightly higher percentage of womenwith a balance in terms of different age groups, training levels university and with a medium and medium/high income.

Tourism impact of Flora 2024

Regarding the evaluations of this event, the most appreciated aspects were the uniqueness, security and the event’s contribution to the city. Likewise, the accessibility to the different places where the floral creations were exhibited, to the parallel activities and the explanations given by the Flora staff, “which are appreciated in a very positive way”, commented the researchers Salvador Moral Cuadra and Laura Ortega Pérez, who led the ‘study.

A remarkable element would be the importance that visitors to Córdoba give to the color green, identifying the color of nature. In this way, the color with which tourists identify Córdoba, green, is reinforced, according to previous research carried out by the same group.

Regarding Flora as a tourist event, it appears that this type of festival allows the city to be promoted as a quality destination and “positions Cordoba as a place where tradition meets modernity”.

The vast majority of visitors express their satisfactionhighlighting the quality of Córdoba as a tourist destination and the uniqueness of the festival in the city, with a strong intention to return, recommend and speak positively about the event.
