The Transport Exchange Center (NMM) “28 de Mayo” operates from today.
Oku.Az reports that 181,000 passengers are transported daily in 259 buses on 16 regular routes from the Transport Exchange Center “May 28”, created according to the “All in one” principle within the framework of the mobility transformation program in Baku.
Information released by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) indicates that all works have been completed at the “May 28” Transport Exchange Center, which was created with the aim of providing quality public transport services to the population and guarantee the comfort and safety of passengers.
New traffic lights were installed at the intersections of Azadlig Avenue with Shamsi Badalbeyli and Fuzuli Streets to optimize the routes of buses passing through the territory of the NMM “May 28”, reduce traffic congestion and avoid additional loss of time.
In this part of Azadlig Avenue, a lane has been set up for the movement of buses in the opposite direction, which will ensure the safe movement of buses entering the territory of NMM and the comfort of passengers. AYNA also simulated the reorganization of traffic on Azadlig Avenue using special software.
It should be noted that the entry of private vehicles is prohibited in the territory of NMM, where large pedestrian zones and micromobility lanes were built, signaling lines, road signs, stops for regular route buses and charging devices for electric buses were drawn. have been installed.
